Mathematica 4.0

Mathematica ist ein mächitges Computeralgebrapaket, das numerisches als auch symbolisches Rechnen in beliebiger Genauigkeit unterstützt.

Daneben verfügt das System über ausgezeichnete Grafikausgabemöglichkeiten und eine eigene Programmiersprache.

Mathematica eignet gut sich zur Untersuchung von Algorithmen und Formeln aus den Bereichen Informatik, Mathematik, und Physik.

Mathematica kann von einer Kommandozeile (z.B. über eine Telnet Session) aus bedient werden, doch in der Regel läuft auf einem DOS PC (oder Apple Macintosh) das Mathematica Frontend mit graphischer Bentutzeroberfläche als Client zum Mathematica Rechenprozeß auf der SGI Origin3800.
